Canopy Docs
Canopy Platform (canopy.host) is git-based application hosting and
deployment - push code, get a running app with a domain and TLS. It’s
built on top of Dokku, with Canopy’s own API driving
builds, deploys, domains, databases, and environment variables on top.
Canopy Platform is a different product from Cortex, a separate AI infrastructure product that happens to live in the same monorepo. See Architecture (internal) for exactly how the two relate - the short version is: Canopy Host’s login/signup delegate to Cortex’s API for credential checking, but everything else is optional and independent.
Where to start
- Getting Started - install the CLI, log in, deploy your first app
- Environments & Services - what an environment is, how multi-service environments work for monorepos
- Databases - provisioning a PostgreSQL/MariaDB/MongoDB database and connecting your app to it
- Deploys & the Staged Pipeline - what actually happens
between
git pushand a running container - CLI Reference - the
canopycommand - API Reference - the full Canopy Host
REST API, generated from
@openapiannotations inhost/api’s own route files (not hand-written - seehost/api/lib/openapi.js), served via Scalar’s interactive viewer
Internal docs
Canopy staff (@canopy.pm accounts) can also reach an Internal
section covering architecture, the staged pipeline’s internals, and an
operational incident log/runbook. Open it from
app.canopy.pm/account/profile →
“Open Internal Docs” - it needs an authenticated Canopy session to unlock,
so there’s no direct link that works from a cold start.
